Earthlings

Okay, definitely not the title I would have chosen for this documentary. However I've watched quite a few videos about cruelty to animals and this one is by far the most gruesome I've ever seen. The beginning of it might be a bit...I'm not sure of the right word for it but the only thing that really comes to mind is corny. But over all it's a really excellent at showing the horrible things humans are capable of doing to living beings. It's VERY sad.

Lips

Today I shot for lips magazine. Everything was really awesome about this shoot. I think Mitsubishi was sponsoring them because the editorial was all about me and one of their new 2010 models. Make-up, hair and the wardrobe were killer. I was wearing Chanel most of the day, which I loved. And I discovered the most amazing pair of leggings ever made. I feel like whenever I find studded leggings their always cheaply made, but these were not. Too bad the stylist bought them in Norway. However now I have a new mission, to find some that are similar. Or maybe I can find them online? The brand was Oasis, so I'll be sure to remember that. I forgot my camera at my apt but I had my phone so all of my pics from the day are from my not so great camera phone. This is what most of my looked like....














I have no castings and nothing to do tomorrow. So tonight I'm going out. :) I hope everyone has a great weekend. Ciao!

Good night moon

I just got home from a super long job. Actually it wasn't that long, it just felt like it because I haven't been getting enough sleep. So, it's straight to bed for me after I post this! Anyway, the shoot today was really rad. They had me looking like a doll, it was shot in an antique shop that was amazing. TONS of cool stuff. And the stylist was amazing also. I wish I could have take more pics, but here are the ones that I did get.













I should have the final images soon. :) Also need to post my pics from Priew magazine. Now I'm off to sleep! Shooting for Lips magazine tomorrow. Yay! :D

Tiger Temple- Boycott it!

When I first came to Thailand I started looking through all of my friends pictures on facebook to see who had been here and what kind of touristy things they did. One really common thing I saw that nearly everyone had been to was the Tiger Temple. They all had amazing pictures with these cute cats, laying on their backs, petting them and one even feeding a cub. At first I thought that this was something that I HAD to do. How amazing would it be to have picture with such a beautiful creature!
However when taking a closer look at the pictures, everything looks VERY unnatural. I decided after looking at more and more pictures of my friends and different advertising for this tourist attraction that something strange had to be going on for the tigers to be so calm and letting people touch them. My first guess was that they drugged the tigers because they look so docile and lifeless. I started to tell a few people my thoughts and no one really had information on it. I did a simple search in google and this is what I found.....

Care for the Wild International (CWI) has released a report about the tiger temple listing MANY significant welfare issues, false claims of conservation, illegal trading and human safety concerns.

The tigers are housed in a small area made of only iron and metal, with nothing natural around them for about 20-21 hours a day. Then when they are let out, they are kept on a very short leash to take photos with hundreds of tourists. There are reports of the staff harassing and beating the tigers along with using water bottles to spray tiger urine in their face to make them more cooperative. The CWI also has proof with signed papers from the abbot who runs the tiger temple, proving that they illegally traded and sold tigers with neighboring country Laos. They are traded or sold to a tiger farm where they are most likely killed for the selling of their skins, bones and other parts.

This is so sad and disturbing! I sincerely hope that people become more educated on what goes on at the tiger temple and avoid going!

Last days of 2009

I keep hearing people say that your year will be similar to how your new years day is. I'm very glad that I don't believe that because it wasn't the best night/day for me. I think I just needed that night to learn a few lessons though.

So, even though I didn't really enjoy my New Years I learned some valuable things that will help to to make 2010 a better year for me. :)
